Freezing Weather Notification

Winter weather and freezing temperatures are expected this week across Texas. The National Weather Service is forecasting widespread freezing temperatures on Friday and Saturday mornings. Residents should closely monitor media and the National Weather Service for updates to the forecast. We wanted to assure you that the teams at Inframark are monitoring and working diligently in preparation for a freezing weather event to safeguard your facilities. It is also important that you take action as well in protecting the “Four P’s”: People, pets, pipes and plants.

People

  • Keep warm, stay inside if possible.
  • If you need to go out, dress in layers and wear hats, gloves and an appropriate coat.
  • Avoid overexertion, as cold weather puts added strain on your body.

Pets

  • Bring pets inside, and move other animals or livestock to sheltered areas.
  • Keep adequate food and water available.

Pipes

  • Disconnect outdoor hoses, drain and store in protected area.
  • Wrap exposed faucets and pipes – including those outside the house or in unheated crawl spaces, attics, garages and other areas.

Plants

  • Bring potted plants inside or store in garage near interior wall to provide extra warmth and protection from wind.
  • For cold-sensitive outdoor plants, put down extra mulch and consider covering with a cloth fabric of some kind to shield the plants from wind and frost.

If you have an irrigation system, turn off the water to the system at your backflow preventer and then drain the system so your irrigation pipes and sprinkler heads are not damaged. As always, if you see any leaks, please report them immediately to Inframark’s 24/7 Emergency Number – (281) 398-8211.

The following sites can also be used as a source of information and to keep you updated:

Notice of Withdrawal of Stage 1 Water Restrictions

WHCRWA Notice of Withdrawal of Stage 1 Water Restrictions (PDF)

The West Harris County Regional Water Authority’s (“Authority”) water supplies have resumed normal operations after having been disrupted as a result of Hurricane Beryl. Accordingly, effective July 12, 2024, Stage 1 water restrictions (voluntary reductions pursuant to the Authority’s Drought Contingency Plan) have been lifted. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please note that the Authority’s Drought Contingency Plan addresses numerous circumstances that can impact water supply (not just lack of rainfall or drought), including disruption of water supply due to natural disasters. A copy of the Authority’s Drought Contingency Plan is posted on the Authority’s website: www.whcrwa.com.

Stage 1 Drought Status: Voluntary Water Conservation Measures for Remington MUD

The West Harris County Regional Water Authority is having to reduce its supply, limiting Remington MUD’s ability to produce water. As a result, our district is implementing Stage 1 of its Drought Status.

During Stage 1, all users are asked to voluntarily reduce their water consumption in the following manner:

  • Homes with even numbered addresses are asked to limit their outdoor water use and irrigation to between 8 pm and 6 am on Sundays and Thursdays.
  • Homes with odd numbered addresses are asked to limit their outdoor water use and irrigation to between 8 pm and 6 am on Saturdays and Wednesdays.
  • Irrigation accounts are asked to limit their outdoor water use and irrigation to between 8 pm and 6 am on Mondays and Fridays.
  • Commercial entities are asked to practice water conservation and minimize or discontinue all non-essential water use.

Below are additional suggestions on how to conserve water. If you see a water leak, please reach out to Inframark immediately at their 24/7 Emergency Number (281) 398-8211 so that the matter can be investigated and resolved as quickly as possible. Thank you for your participation in our community’s conservation effort. Every drop counts!

Preparing for Hurricane Beryl: Safety Measures and What to Expect

As all of you are well aware, and have been tracking for over a week, Hurricane Beryl is headed for our area and scheduled to make landfall tomorrow, July 8. It’s crucial to take necessary precautions to ensure your safety and minimize damage to your property.

  • Anticipate Street Flooding: During high-intensity rains, there may be street ponding or flooding if the storm drains are overwhelmed and backed up. Don’t panic if you see water accumulating on the roads. As the rainfall decreases, the storm sewers will catch up, and any water in the streets will recede. This process may take some time, so patience is key.
  • Keep Cars Off the Streets: To avoid damage to your vehicles and to ensure emergency services can navigate the streets, please keep cars off the roads. Park your vehicles in garages or driveways and away from areas prone to flooding.
  • Secure Loose Items: Strong winds and heavy rain can turn loose items into dangerous projectiles. Make sure to bring in garbage cans, any loose furniture, or items outside that may grow wings in the storm. Securing these items not only protects your property but also helps keep your neighbors safe.
  • Stay Informed: Keep an eye on weather updates and emergency notifications. Local authorities will provide the latest information on the storm’s progress and any additional precautions you should take.
  • Create an Emergency Kit: Ensure you have an emergency kit ready with essentials such as water, non-perishable food, medications, flashlights, batteries, and important documents. Being prepared can make a significant difference during and after the storm.
  • Follow Local Guidance: Adhere to any evacuation orders or other instructions from local authorities. They have the most accurate and up-to-date information to keep you safe.

By taking these steps, we can help each other stay safe and minimize the impact of Hurricane Beryl. Stay indoors, stay informed, and take care of yourselves and your loved ones.

Navigating Recovery Together: Best Trash’s Commitment Following Recent Storms

Best Trash extends sympathy to all of our customers that have been impacted by the recent storms. We will do our best to help get everyone back to normal. Please clearly separate the regular household garbage from the storm debris.

Tree limbs may not exceed 4 inches in diameter, no longer than 4 feet and tied and bundled not heavier than 40 lbs. and separate to show they are tied/bundled. Crews may collect up to 3 bundles each service day.

We ask that residents be patient during times like this as the crews have been instructed to prioritize the household trash and then the storm debris. Please understand that all the debris will not be collected at one time. Residents may contact customerservice@besttrashtexas.com with a picture of their debris and their address/neighborhood name for a quote for special one-time collection.
