Best Trash will begin collecting storm debris on Saturday July 27, 2024. Please have your storm debris prepared and placed at the curb for collection by 7 am.

1. Preparation: Residents are encouraged to cut debris to 4-foot lengths to facilitate easier pickup (but is not required). Place items at the curb in a pile.
2. Important Note: These dedicated trucks will only collect tree and fence and bagged debris. Household trash will not be picked up by these trucks.
3. Please do not put anything on the water meter box as the grapple claw may damage the box and Best Trash is not liable for the damage.

As all of you are well aware, and have been tracking for over a week, Hurricane Beryl is headed for our area and scheduled to make landfall tomorrow, July 8. It’s crucial to take necessary precautions to ensure your safety and minimize damage to your property.

• Anticipate Street Flooding: During high-intensity rains, there may be street ponding or flooding if the storm drains are overwhelmed and backed up. Don’t panic if you see water accumulating on the roads. As the rainfall decreases, the storm sewers will catch up, and any water in the streets will recede. This process may take some time, so patience is key.
• Keep Cars Off the Streets: To avoid damage to your vehicles and to ensure emergency services can navigate the streets, please keep cars off the roads. Park your vehicles in garages or driveways and away from areas prone to flooding.
• Secure Loose Items: Strong winds and heavy rain can turn loose items into dangerous projectiles. Make sure to bring in garbage cans, any loose furniture, or items outside that may grow wings in the storm. Securing these items not only protects your property but also helps keep your neighbors safe.
• Stay Informed: Keep an eye on weather updates and emergency notifications. Local authorities will provide the latest information on the storm’s progress and any additional precautions you should take.
• Create an Emergency Kit: Ensure you have an emergency kit ready with essentials such as water, non-perishable food, medications, flashlights, batteries, and important documents. Being prepared can make a significant difference during and after the storm.
• Follow Local Guidance: Adhere to any evacuation orders or other instructions from local authorities. They have the most accurate and up-to-date information to keep you safe.
